Stop the Dolphin and Whale Slaughter in the Faroe Islands
The International Whaling Commission’s moratorium on whaling does not cover cetaceans (small whales and dolphins) so these marine mammals are subject to barbaric acts of slaughter as seen in the in the Faroe Islands (Denmark) and Japan (as depicted in The Cove).
- This practice is a cruel and brutal tradition that has no place in the 21st century
- It is destructive for the ocean’s ecosystems, where our largest marine animals are already suffering the effects of overfishing and other forms of human impact
- Chief medical officers of the Faroe Islands have even recommended that pilot whales no longer be considered fit for human consumption, because they are toxic
This killing festival must be stopped.
Send an email to the Danish minister for foreign affairs, Per Stig Møller.
